Home Visits
Requesting a Home Visit
We will visit patients at home if they are too ill or infirm to come to the surgery. Please do not ask for a visit if you are able to come to the surgery.
A patient will be deemed to be ‘housebound’ when they are unable to leave their home environment through physical and/or psychological illness.
An individual will not be eligible for a home visit if they are able to leave their home environment on their own or with minimal assistance to visit public or social recreational public services (including shopping).
Home visits will also not be authorised because of:
- A lack of transport.
- The patient’s financial situation.
- Childcare issues.
- Poor weather conditions.
- Any other situation deemed inappropriate by the assessing clinician.
It will help us if requests for home visits are made before 10.00am if possible.
